Pleasant Path on Jeykll Island

About This Work
This painting shows a solitary bike path at one of my favorite places to relax: Jeykll Island, Georgia. The twisted branches of the massive oak trees form a canopy of green overhead while the Spanish Moss hangs from the rugged bark in long soft clusters. The path winds through the underbrush along the marsh (out of scene, to the right) while the sun highlights the treetops and shrubbery, casting flitting shadows across the path.
This scene brings back fond memories for me. Memories of biking down trails and exploring the woods, marshes, and beaches of this natural sanctuary.
This large, 24 x 30 inch oil-on-canvas painting is fully cured and already covered with a protective coating of archival quality varnish.
